I hate writing FAQs...however, there are a couple of mod issues to put up in nice neat writing.

  • Editing of posts
This will normally only occur if the post contains information which is commercially sensitive in a kind of "damaging the chances" way. The edited text will be indicated in green to indicate it has been altered. The reason will be given.

The other time it might occur is when something which clearly ought to be a clickable link isn't and the editing will just be to make the links active.

  • Locking/Deleting of threads
This will only occur if the thread descending into some kind of flamewar, or becoming obsessed with something deemed OT (see below). A polite warning will be given and if the thread continues to get nasty, the thread will be locked and the reason given. The locked thread will remain on the forum for seven days and will then be deleted.

  • discussion of the Faction's appearances in Doctor Who novels
The following Doctor Who books contain the Faction Paradox and can be considered fair game, but please keep it relevant to FP, not DW (see the history at www.factionparadox.co.uk" for ways these books do or do not fit with current FP continuity) :
    • Alien Bodies by Lawrence Miles
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563405775
    • Unnatural History by Kate Orman and Jon Blum
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563555769
    • Interference, Book One by Lawrence Miles
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563555807
    • Interference, Book Two by Lawrence Miles
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563555823
    • Dead Romance by Lawrence Miles
      The New Adventures; ISBN: 0426205324
    • The Taking of Planet Five by Simon Bucher-Jones & Mark Clapham
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563555858
    • The Shadows of Avalon by Paul Cornell
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563555882
    • The Ancestor Cell by Peter Anghelides & Steven Cole
      BBC Books; ISBN:05635380

The following have either cameos or are only tangentially connected:
    • Christmas on a Rational Planet by Lawrence Miles
      Virgin Books; ISBN: 042620476X
      (first mention of Grandfather Paradox)
    • The Adventuress of Henrietta Street by Lawrence Miles
      BBC Books; ISBN: 0563538422
      (contains a version of Sabbath)
    • Toy Story by Lawrence Miles
      Perfect Timing 2 fanthology
      (first mention of Lolita)

It's worth remembering that the majority of these texts are out of print and the current FP stuff assumes the reader/listener will not have got/read/heard them. The key events have been extracted and reworked into the timeline at www.factionparadox.co.uk

    discussion of non-FP Doctor Who
please use other fora for this subject. It's not that we don't enjoy a good long argument about the merits or otherwise of whichever editor/writer etc etc but, unless it can be tied back to the faction paradox, it's better off on a Doctor Who fora. Two good places are:
I wish I could draw a line in the sand to make this easy, but we'll just have to accept the line is a bit scuffed up and messy. Hope this helps.
