In Whatever Happened to People Power?, Panorama discovers that with increasing frequency in the UK, those rights have been eroded and, in some cases, taken away entirely.

I watched this just before Torchwood and I was shocked by the sheer scale of the abuses against people's civil liberties as their rights were repeatedly violated by the police and then it was revealed that not only was the government not doing anything about it but they were colluding with companies to further promote the abuses and counter the legitimate protests!
