mother/father Posts: 703 23 May, 2009 5:13 PM	Tags : None Everything always happens at once... quite aside from the whole moving to Texas and getting married stuff (not that I'm planning too far ahead or anything) and some other things, I suddenly find myself promoted to admin on the Thinking Aloud Forum. It's been a weird six months. The forum came about following a schism at the Dawkins place, then in a more recent (and oddly less savoury) schism, a great many members disappeared elsewhere (hopefully never to return) leaving just a handful of us. The big cheese has big plans for the place, and I've been drafted in to come up with a load of ideas. My own big idea will be a literary section - short stories as ebooks, workshopping, networking, publishing, blah blah blah (slightly more complicated and hopefully interesting than that may sound)... but in the mean time I've become admin in order to get used to the technical side of it, so I'm just concentrating on not blowing anything up at the moment. Anyway, in my admin capacity I'm sort of obliged to try and get a few bums on seats so drop in, look around, add to our mountain of off-topic drivel, PM me and demand special favours etc...

mother/father Posts: 703 25 May, 2009 2:46 PM	I've changed my username to Cousin Justine and kitted myself up with a Factiony avatar and it seems to be doing the job so far. I've had an administrator's control panel bonded to my shadow but it's all I can do to open the thing up at the moment let alone actually use it. Still, I haven't actually set the forum on fire yet so I must be doing something right.

mother/father Posts: 703 9 June, 2009 9:03 AM	Two things: Firstly - an ENORMOUS apology to everyone for my frequent moaning about this board (as in how it works, or hasn't worked). My new boss (obscured by clouds) just ordered me to download Firefox. Which I did. And oh my God... it wasn't the internet, it was the useless Bill Gates junk on my PC... I feel so embarrassed... Secondly, for what it may be worth, I have somehow managed to lure a bunch of OG refugees over there which is er... just wow... unfortunately I also seem to have attracted an individual who finds it amusing to repeatedly post pics of semi-naked Japanese schoolgirls which, although technically within forum rules, is clearly the mark of a fucking tosser. My ban hammer is beginning to tingle...

mother/father Posts: 703 9 June, 2009 3:56 PM	Yeah it's in my sig but I will certainly do what I can, it might also be worth your mentioning that site you mentioned a few weeks ago, just get over there and send out a few PMs. The weird thing is I think a lot of them are looking really hard for the next site and there's one called er... Gallifrey Base or something, but of the people who have come over to look around (mostly Tenth Planet regulars) half were those I PMed, half were on the strength of the lot I spoke to, so word of mouth (well, you know what I mean seems to work wonders at the moment).

Just saying in the vague hope of luring Doloras (or indeed anyone else) there again. I know it won't happen, but I thought I should at least try. Anyone seen Cousin Ushas lately?
