Yes, I read the books; very different from the TV show, despite using some of the same material. I thought Backwards was a rather better third book than Last Human.

Buy the complete box set now; the TV series is fantastic. I'm not sure if the new story even could be released as part of a new box set, since it's done by a different company.

Without wanting major spoilers (happy to then after duck out of the thread if you did want to discuss anything) were these any good after?

I liked Red Dwarf when I was younger, though I more read the Red Dwarf books than watching that much of it (I rarely watch TV, I'm strange like that). Did anyone else read them or was it just me? They even had two alternative final books published, as the authors fell out and each put out their own end to it.

According to those In The Know, Claire Grogan is currently doing the 80's-nostalgia-tour circuit with her band Altered Images, playing the backwoods of Ireland and similar. Probably pays better than RD and no need to learn new lines.

Chloe, unfortunately. Not that I have anything against her at all, I'm just a big fan of the original. In fact, I tend to prefer the earlier episodes in general. This one was rather odd, and I'm not sure what to make of it. Certainly not up with the best of the series, but I'd be curious to see a version with a laugh track added. I enjoyed the Blade Runner homages, but there were a few too many - spoofing a range of films might have been better.

Yeah... but you're obviously attuned to these things and I spend all my time talking rubbish on internet forums (this is true actually, I'm not being smart-arsed here) so I miss a lot of this stuff...

Mind you - I've still only got your regular TV so I wouldn't have been able to watch it anyway. Oh bums. I'll see if I can find it on YouTube or something. I used to...

What? When? Where? Why was I not informed?

I remember seeing something on the cover of a magazine about a month ago about it coming back, but er... this is the price I pay for not buying a TV guide on the grounds that I never watch TV. I'll see if I can find it on iPlayer or whatever you call it.
